Because there is a mass influence from social media to society. The people believe that if it is real or fake without hesitation. Most of the time fake news are more popular than real. Because the most of the people are jealous of or hate (anger, fear) others' progress. Sometime the reason may be selfishness or competitiveness. This can be the reaction of 90% or more than 90% of the human population(diversity). Also, we can assume those are the most interests in human society as a conclusion. Others are joy and surprise. Unfortunately, it can be applied to social media algorithms as well. Most of the time algorisms push fake news more than real. Also, it can be driven by AI.
If someone published a fake (bad influence) news on social media. Then it will be easily or efficiently pull and push from algorithms. Then the other human interactions of comments, shares, views and watch time help to spread the fake news widely than the real news.
We already know some countries (India, China, North Korea, Russia, Iran, etc.) manage social media. Because sometimes it may be a bad influence to overcome political, social, and security barriers. This is the main reason some countries manage our AI-driven social media.
