The Stargate, or the $500 Billion AI program, is the latest and largest project that the government is involved in. It will be a huge data center. Everyone knows the famous motto that knowledge is power, and in the present, power can be derived from data. In the future, this will be even more critical, and AI/AGI will be able to control or manage this data easily.
To the outside world, it will appear as a giant AI/AGI factory. But what will it be on the inside? The answer is actually: “We don’t know.” However, we can make logical predictions based on our current understanding of AI.
We know that large language models (LLMs) are built using enormous amounts of parameters and data. There are billions of data points now. In fact, data is critical. As of 2025, the total size of world data is 180 zettabytes, or 1 trillion gigabytes (180 trillion GB). This volume is always increasing.
In the future, data will likely be decentralized through Web 3.0, which may help both AI and humans manage it more efficiently. For these reasons, we can predict some possible outcomes. If a larger model can be created with parameters measured in zettabytes, the model could comprehend vast amounts of data and knowledge. It could then analyze most of the data on the internet and identify or solve problems in seconds. These could include every type of problem or danger alert.
Examples include analyzing social data to understand human behavior or protect privacy, preventing national security threats from around the world (even beyond ethical barriers), preventing crimes, or analyzing war and political landscapes.
This would be a highly efficient problem-solving method or technology enabled by AI/AGI in the future. Perhaps the Stargate will become the fastest track toward achieving AGI. Sometimes, this AGI—or alien-like, human-level AI—may be controlled or supervised by the government.
